ACWUA is proud to present the “First University Challenge MENA Region” in cooperation with DWA at the 4th Arab Water Week. This competition aims at promoting MENA Region’s engineers of tomorrow by having them compete with each other in teams of three in three different disciplines.
1st task: Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM): a landscape has to be developed with the DWA environment cards combining infrastructure measures from water management, waste management and energy management
2nd task: Non-Revenue Water: ACWUA’s Non-Revenue Water Diagnosing Tool has to be applied on data taken from case studies. On this basis ideas on how to reduce the rate of Non-Revenue Water have to be formulated
3rd task: Innovations, Projects and New Approaches: Students will be provided with questions about the latest innovations, projects and approaches in the water sector in the MENA region, which they can only solve by interacting with the exhibitors at Arab Water Week’s trade fair
Through this Challenge students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge obtained at University to real-life situations, gain new thematic and structural insights in the water and wastewater community as well as improve their team-working skills. In addition companies and institutions will become aware of these qualified young people and profit from more experienced engineers.
If you are interested in participating in this Challenge as a student, you need to apply in a group of 3 students, by submitting a letter of interest supported from your university professor at: email@example.com
Sponsors are invited to support students’ costs for travel and accommodation, or offer awards for the winning teams. For further information, please contact us through: firstname.lastname@example.org
